I remember that I couldn't sleep. All of us girls crammed into two tiny hotel rooms across from the church. We had spent the night watching Bridesmaids and eating thai food. Maybe thats why I couldn't sleep. Sometimes pad thai noodles up set my stomach. It very well could have been the fact that I was about to make one of the biggest decisions in my life.
I was up with the sun. I watched it swing over the downtown skyline till it's morning rays hugged our hotel. Hair and make-up started soon after and the next thing I knew I was slipping on my dream dress from BHLDN and heading to our first look.
There are a lot of things we didn't do the normal way for our wedding, there were a lot of people we didn't invite, and there were some things we skipped on because it just wasn't worth it.
We wanted to remember our day. Once I turned my husband around at our first look and we went hand-in-hand into the rest of the day, we were sponges. We soaked in every moment. We remember every face, every word, every song and all the kisses in-between.
We didn't want to get weighed down by traditions, events or people that we didn't know. That was the best decision we made.
Now when I look back at our pictures, its like seeing an old friend again. We don't look at them because we missed something at our wedding and the images help us to see something we forgot or weren't apart of. We look back and we remember. Every. Single. Moment.
Your wedding day is such an important story to remember because eventually, a few years down the line you'll look over in bed and may not even recognize that person anymore. They may have grown up, been marked by a few mistakes or just straight up tired because life is hard. What hasn't changed are the vows made on that day and it's important we remind ourselves of that story. Where it all began and how far we promised to go.
let me help you remember that story and be a part of your wedding day. For more info see the Investment Page.
