I remember the first time I put on pair of underwear that made me feel like I was a woman. These were cheeky little things. They were silky, black and had delicate lace around the edges. They hugged my wide hips with a gentle embrace and made me realize that not all curves are bad. I stood in the mirror thinking that I surely had been missing out on a pretty great feeling with those 5 pack of undies I was accustomed to.
I have been overweight all my life and the struggle is real, but every now and again I need a good reminder that I deserve beautiful things that show off my skin because regardless of size, my skin is beautiful. It has endured marathons, burns in the kitchen, carrying a child and the HARD ASS LABOR that happens at the end of carrying a child, harsh weather conditions and the turmoils of puberty. So it's time we start appreciating all of our skin and the hard work it has done for us.
